Project Description
A large primarily, traditional construction of load bearing masonry structure with elements of steel frame to form open areas of the chapel and dining rooms.

Project Challenges
Constructed on a sloping site in clay formation with high volume change potential, a comprehensive assessment was carried out to ensure that foundations were constructed beyond the influence zone of the many mature trees in the area. This resulted in stepped trench fill foundations to provide the most economical design while accounting for ongoing seasonal movement in the soils ensuring that this does not impact the structure.
