Project Description
The steel framed building to the Hall included a first floor plant room, breakout space and projection room, supported on a concrete composite profiled metal deck slab.
The clear span of the Hall was achieved using 20m steel fabricated trusses, optimised to achieve the Architects desired depth, whilst ensuring the use of efficient and economical steel sections.
Project Challenges
The proposed extensions had to fit seamlessly with the existing structure. Foundation design needed to carefully account for the existing foundations to enable new columns to be placed as close as practicable to the existing building. MP consulting’s design ensured the existing foundations were not compromised and ground bearing pressures were kept within acceptable limits.
