New Build Store to Lidl 2021 Eco-model
Project Overview
Implementation of a new build Lidl store on a constrained site. Extensive cut fill groundworks resulted in a building terrace with car park falling to a steeper sloping access road. The site works commenced in 2021 and store will open in early 2022.

Project Description
MP Consulting provided structural design of groundworks, infrastructure drainage, external works, retaining walls and building foundations for the Lidl Lemington store, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Working closely with the principal contractor, Castlehouse Construction, the design was developed from outline tender to detail construction status. Value engineering solutions allowed for economies in the initial stage of the project where extensive groundworks were required.
Project Challenges
The profiling of site across the existing hillside required extensive retaining structures. Working closely with the Principle Contractor, MP provided design and details for external works walls within the site demise together with structures at back of footpath in accordance with highways design standards and Agreement in Principle.
